Trinkets

I don't wear jewelry.

But I do enjoy scarves and ridiculous safety goggles, so figure that one out.

I'm not sure how to explain this stuff. I was working on another project involving metal leaves, the project from this post, and some people on instagram told me to make earrings out of them. They seemed a little big to be earrings, but I thought I'd take a shot at some necklaces. I made a bunch out of some thin steel sheeting, and others I made out of copper pipe I re-purposed. I’m not a jeweler or a jewelry artist, but it was a nice break while I figured some stuff out.

Then I saw giant circle earrings on sale somewhere, and bought a bunch of them, and used letter punches to write "Fuck Off" on them. Because where do you even get a thing like that unless you make it?

I made existential earrings - the love/death ones below - and similar ones that say, “Eat Me." Clearly I have a certain type of person in mind who would wear them.

These were all a great way to get myself into the studio doing something low pressure while thinking about the next big thing.

Most things that involve hammers, naturally, appeal to me.

There are more pictures on my blog and instagram.
